Windows 10: Headset problems

I don't use my computer very often and have like 0 skills/experience with this medium. Please keep that in mind while going through this.


I wanted to use discord to, you know, talk to people, but I don't really know how to set up a headset in a right way. I've only managed to make the earphones work, but the microphone doesn't record any audio. I also have to be lucky everytime I plug in my headset, because on rare occasions it gets recognized, most of the time not. It's also showing me sometimes that the headset is connected if it's unplugged, and tells me that it isn't connected if it's plugged in. I'm running Microsoft 10 on a bootcamp, because (and please don't lynch me for that it wasn't my choice) my computer is an iMac. This piece of…. something also has built in speakers and microphone, so both of these could be a problem too.

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

• Have you tried connecting it to a different USB port on your computer?
• When you connected your headset, did the PC recognize it?

I appreciate it I was more looking to see if anyone knows something that can fit my bill in that budget. Trust me I know all about the $300 range and even considered audio technica m50x with a condenser mic *Stick Out Tongue
