Windows 10: HEIC file won't delete in desktop

Hi! There's a HEIC file that I downloaded that's been bugging me, because it won't delete at all. I've tried deleting it the usual way, using third party apps such as FileAssassin and Start Unlocker, and I've tried Winrar's option of deleting said file after creating a .rar version.


Any leads would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.

 

Delete HEIC File Type

I've noticed that my windows 10 computer cannot delete HEIC files. When I try and delete them, it seems windows cannot find the files and move them to the trash.

 

HEIC file viewing

I have the HEIC Image extensions and the HEVC video extensions on my Windows 10 PC but the TWINUI application will still not open the HEIC file. Any suggestions?

I have tried converting it to JPG using the APowersoft application but it downloads the file to a location that does not seem to exist on my PC - "...Users/[user name]\AppData\temp...
