Windows 10: Help Dell Inspiron Windows 10 Laptop Dead

I just tried to turn on my Dell Laptop which was put to sleep when I closed the lid yesterday. The laptop will no longer start and there is no screen activity.

The power light comes on and there is some disk activity when I press the on button to reboot but there is no screen activity and no beeps. I can't boot from my Reflect recovery drive and the Dell Diagnostics (Fn key + Power button) do nothing. I've removed the main battery, held the power on button for a minute and then reinserted the battery but that doesn't work.

I'm now stumped. Do I have defunct laptop or are there other things I can try?

need help diagnosing dead dell inspiron 1545 laptop

this is my nieces computer so I don't have hands on regular daily use knowledge of it but .....

ok as of now the power supply is showing its putting out 19 volts so its working but the power light on the laptop itself is not coming on and the laptop is dead even after wiggling the plug to see if there might be a lose connection there.

about 6 months ago I had replaced the broken power jack on it with a brand new oem dell replacement one so its relatively new and shows no sign of any damage or having a loose or broken power jack plug but I suppose it could have went bad but im not sure if there is something in it that the power runs through first like a power converter that can go bad other then a broken plug .

what I was told about it leading up to this failure was, it would simply go off and the power light on the computer would be off but the power supply light was still on and putting out power.

she left it plugged in (it stays on a desk and never gets moved at all so it wasn't dropped, hit, or banged around, and she never unplugs it) and a few days later the computer power light was back on again and it worked for a few days before it did it again, now it seams to not come back on by itself anymore and is totally dead.

since the laptop power light isn't coming on, im thinking it rules out a dead cpu or anything else hardware related like that, and it must be that power jack circuit board went out, but im just guessing here and need your help and suggestions with this.

is my thinking correct and the first step is to try replacing the power jack circuit board?

 

Dell Inspiron 7537 Laptop & Creator's Upgrade


My Dell Inspiron 15 7537 laptop hasn't been offered the update to the Creator's Update via Windows Update yet and it doesn't appear on Dell's upgrade list. Has anyone updated their Inspiron 7537 to the Creator's Update via the Media Creation Tool or ISO file and did you have any problems?
