help.... detected objects on my kaspersky total security 2016

does anyone know why this keeps happening to my kaspersky antivirus? I keep getting these vulnerable objects every saturdays and there are always about five of them. I am thinking of maybe that they are not updated so they keep being detected... I want to know if anybody know how to stop this and fix it.

  2. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL blue screen crash in Windows 10

I've used the tool but there is a large list of things I can remove and I'm not sure which. I've tried removing 3 which are

    Kaspersky Anti-Virus/Internet Security/Kaspersky Total Security 12.0.1.415

    Kaspersky Anti-Virus/Internet Security/Kaspersky Total Security 15.0.2.361

    Kaspersky Anti-Virus/Internet Security/Kaspersky Total Security 2016 365 1/4

    Kaspersky Anti-Virus/Internet Security/Kaspersky Total Security 2015

I was able to play a game without any crashes before doing this but now I get either the memory management crash or kernel security check failure.

    Hi:

It sounds and looks from your screen shot as if you have KIS configured to run a weekly vulnerability scan.
That scan is detecting outdated plug-ins (Adobe Flash Player, etc.) and an outdated application (7zip).

To change the vulnerability scan schedule, see the attached screen shot (taken from KIS2016 under Win10 v1511, 64-bit).
Once you click on item 4 in the screen shot (vulnerability scan), you will be taken to a menu of scheduling options, including "manual", if you wish.

Adobe Flash Player for IE11 under Win10 should be updated automatically via Windows Update.
To update your Adobe Flash Player for Firefox and other browsers, the standard way is to visit this web page:

    https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

IMPORTANT: Be sure to UN-tick (disable) the offers for free, bundled software during the setup wizard.
(There are other sites from which to directly download the Flash Player setup files, but the above link is the standard one for non-Enterprise users.)

To update your version of 7zip, go to the vendor's website and download the correct version of the current build (16.04) for your architecture, either 32-bit or 64-bit:

    7-Zip

Please post back and let us know how it goes, so that we can all learn.

    Thanks,

    MM

I already downloaded 7zip 64-bit but for the adobe flash player I received this window. I don't know if I already have adobe flash player in my computer.... I use google chrome, microsoft edge and internet explorer. So I need to install this?

  6. Hi:

TMALSS, Each browser (or type of browser) uses its own version of Adobe Flash Player (or none at all).

I do not use Google Chrome, but I think it has its own version of Flash Player.
Flash Player for IE11 in Windows 10 is updated automatically.
I do not use Edge, but I think it does not use Flash Player at all.

For those browsers that do use Flash Player and for Shockwave Player, it's important to keep these applications updated to reduce security vulnerability. That is why your outdated versions are being flagged on the KIS/KTS vulnerability scan.

If you use Firefox (or similar browsers), you can get the current version of Flash Player here:
    http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flas...ash_player.exe

Or you can use this link to select the Flash Player version appropriate for your OS and browser:
Adobe Flash Player Install for all versions

You can verify that you have the most current version here (NOTE: you need to test this separately for each browser):
    Adobe - Flash Player

If you use Adobe Shockwave Player, you can get the most current version here:
    Adobe - Adobe Shockwave Player
    or
    Adobe - Adobe Shockwave Player

If you previously installed older versions of either of those Flash Player plug-ins for browsers you no longer use or if you do not need Adobe Shockware Player, you can uninstall them from the Control Panel >Programs > Programs and Features.
There is also Flash Player uninstaller:
    http://download.macromedia.com/get/f...ash_player.exe

    I hope this helps,

    MM

  8. help.... detected objects on my kaspersky total security 2016

    Hi:

Unless the KTS vulnerability scan is wrong (which *can* happen), your original screenshot does show that you have (or had) older, vulnerable versions installed. That is why they were turning up in the scan.

I'm on my Win7 box right now, so I cannot take a screenshot of Win10. But, to find out whether you have these applications installed, you can open the Win10 Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. They will be listed there.

For Adobe Flash Player, you can also go to this web site and it will test for you:
    Adobe - Flash Player
NOTE: you need to do so separately for each browser that you use.

Also: Adobe Flash Player for Chrome, Edge and IE (under Win10) are embedded in the browsers. They ought to update "automatically", if you have those browsers (or Windows Update, as appropriate) properly configured. I do not use any of those browsers myself, so we would need to wait for someone else to assist you with the specifics.

If you need to get the current Flash Player version for Firefox or for Opera and similar browsers, you can get them here:
    Player Download Center
or from the links in my previous reply.
If you do not use Firefox or Opera (or similar browsers), then you do not need the Flash Player versions for those browsers.

Have you re-run the KTS vulnerability scan to see what is still being detected?????

    Thanks,
    MM

  11. Hi:

Hmmm, well, we don't seem to be making much progress here.*Sad
I already explained in my previous replies how to update both Flash Player and Shockwave player (and 7zip).

I will try my best to explain again.

Each class of browsers (IE, Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc., and 32-bit/64-bit) handles Adobe plugins differently.
For Edge and IE under Win10 and for Google Chrome, those browsers have an embedded version of Flash Player within the browser that *should* auto-update without needing any manual updating from the user, assuming everything is configured correctly.
In other words, you ought not to need to update Flash Player for IE, Edge or Chrome yourself, because the browsers (or Windows Update) will do it for you.
Only if you use Firefox (or similar browsers) or Opera (or similar browsers) would you need to EITHER configure Flash Player to auto-update on its own, OR (if needed) to manually update it.
If you have outdated versions of Flash Player for Firefox (or Opera) installed, but you do not use either of those browsers, then Flash Player will not auto-update. If you do not use those browsers, then you do not need their versions of Flash Player and so you should just uninstall it/them.

For Shockwave, you can update to the most current version here:
    Adobe - Adobe Shockwave Player
    or
    Adobe - Adobe Shockwave Player

There are two likely reasons why the same detections keep showing up on your KTS vulnerability scan:
    • Either you still have installed on the system outdated versions of the programs listed (for one reason or another);
    • Or the vulnerability scan is showing inaccurate results.

So, let's back up a bit.

First, I suggest that you please do the following:
    • Open the Windows Control Panel > click on Programs > click on Programs and Features
    • Scroll down the list and see what (if anything) is listed for 7zip, Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Shockwave
      • If they are installed, they will show up in the list, as well as the version number in the far right column
    • Attach a screenshot to your next reply.

I have attached a screenshot from my own Win10 system for comparison.

As you can see from my Control Panel shot and from the other screen shot from the Adobe Flash page, the current version of Flash Player is 23.0.0.185, while your vulnerability scan shows 23.0.0.162, an older, vulnerable version.
(My picture only shows 7zip and Flash Player installed, because I do not use Shockwave. Your list may include Shockwave, too.)

Once we can see what is installed on your system, we can go from there, as far as explaining again how to update or (if needed) uninstall the programs in question.*Smile

    Thanks,
    MM

  14. Yes, just to complicate matters further, a new version has been released since we started this conversation....

Yes, but that is the for the embedded version of Flash Player in the browser you are using in that screen shot, CHROME.

Other browsers use different versions of Flash Player.
To verify that you have the current version for IE and Edge, you would visit >>THIS SAME PAGE<< while using THOSE browsers separately. They ought to have updated automatically, if your system is correctly configured.

However, your KTS vulnerability scan shows that you have an older (dating back to September), outdated version of Flash Player for FIREFOX (and similar browsers).
You said you do not use Firefox.
Therefore you do not need the Firefox version of Flash Player.
I am going to try to explain how to uninstall it from your computer, so that it will no longer show up on the KTS vulnerability scan.

I do not understand why 7zip is still showing up in the vulnerability scan. It may be a hiccup with the vulnerability scan.
And I have no idea whether you have been able to update SHOCKWAVE -- it seems that you have not, as it continues to show up in the scan. Or it could be another hiccup in the vulnerability scan.

We are having so much trouble with getting FLASH PLAYER, SHOCKWAVE and 7ZIP properly updated, normally a simple process.*Sad
We are also having trouble with simple steps, such as opening the Windows Control Panel*Sad

So, for simplicity, I would like you to do the following:

    • Temporarily uninstall all 3 applications from the system (I will explain how to do that);
    • Reboot (restart) the computer;
    • Rerun a manual KTS vulnerability scan to be sure that these 3 programs no longer show up as vulnerable applications;
    • Cleanly reinstall the most current version of 7Zip (which I assume you use) and Shockwave (which I presume you also use/need).
    • We will NOT reinstall Flash Player for Firefox, since you say that you do not use Firefox.

Please post back and indicate whether you would like to proceed, or not.

If YES, I will try to explain the steps.
If NO, then I suggest that you either please wait for someone else to assist you here, or perhaps consider seeking help from Kaspersky Support; they can help you with the vulnerability scan feature of their software, especially if it continues to flag programs that are properly updated.

    Thanks,
    MM
