Windows 10: Help me figure out how to get out of Full Screen mode when this old game freezes

I recently installed on my laptop an old game that I used to play on my PS2. It runs just fine, but every now and then it just crashes and the screen stays frozen. The Start menu button doesn't work, unplugging and re-plugging the headphones then trying to turn them up louder than 37 doesn't work, the only way my system will possibly minimize the game screen back to the desktop screen is if the laptop battery reaches low levels and I get a warning notification. I just figured out I can press Start Menu button + G to open the Xbox Game Bar in-game, which shows the mouse pointer, and then press Start button again so I can at least access the Taskbar and Start Menu, but trying to close the game from there doesn't work, neither does accessing other apps. The best I could do was quit my User Profile via the Start Menu and log in again, which works as if I restarted the computer.

Can anybody help me? I wish I knew a better way to exit this game when it crashes without literally having to restart my computer/user, or a way to just exit it, period, because the only option to minimize it is on the main menu screen. The game is Star Wars Battlefront II: Ultimate Pack, by the way. It's a beloved classic of mine and I'm loving replaying it, but I can't keep up without knowing a simpler way of minimizing it's screen when I need to.

You may also try installing the game in compatibility mode.
Follow these steps to install the game software in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

        Right-click on the game setup file and click on
        ‘properties’.
        
      • 
        Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
        ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
        

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to get in touch with the game manufacturer if it’s specific to that particular game.

I suggest to run the game in compatibility mode by following the steps below and check if it helps.

full-screen mode in games freezing

thanks for replying

but i don't think the problem is with my hardware because when i run the game in borderless mode it works with a good performance

but since not all games have the borderless mode option i have a hard time playing them

and some game have full-screen as the default mode so i have a hard time to try to change it so i can play

so i don't know what is the problem that causes games to freeze in full-screen mode
