Windows 10: Help me get the gremlins turning my PC's on please :)

Hi all,

Obligatory long time listener first time caller intro *Biggrin

I run a gaming cafe with 25 PC's and as you can imagine this involves a lot of updates over various applications and games. All the PC's are running Windows 10 1903 build. I have a cache system setup on a hyper-v box to deal with steam, blizzard, epic and windows updates which has been an absolute lifesaver.

We have cafe software which manages pc time, remote desktop, shut down/start up, member accounts and things like that. Worth mentioning that since the cafe software installed a particular update we have not been able to initiate remote start up (absolutely nothing changed on the PC's as far as configuration goes WoL still enabled in bios and on network adapter), which might seem like a small thing but since I tend to do a lot of managing from home it is definitely a spanner in the works.

We have been open two years and up until recently have never really had the need to setup a local domain to manage the PC's as people have generally been pretty good with not installing crap that they shouldn't and changing things around. I decided to setup another VM with windows server 2016 and add all the PC's so that I can configure group policy, handle updates, issue remote start up and general make life easier stuff. I haven't had experience with windows server prior to this but I am self taught and a fast learner so I figured why not.

I got the box up and running last week and I have all the PC's joined to the domain and I am still in the process of configuring things, however, I have a slight issue and it's somewhat annoying given the cost of electricity and all. The PC's will not stay off when they are shut down (shut down not put into sleep mode). I'll turn them all off at once then one by one at random times they will turn back on. I've run out of search terms to put into google trying to figure this out.

I would really appreciate some help troubleshooting this, I understand that by throwing windows server into the mix that this might make it not a windows 10 problem and I accept that my post may get deleted because of this, I do ask the powers that be to please not delete it if at all possible

PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval

• Install system in case
  • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
• Turn on PC
• setup HDD
• run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
  • run realtemp at the same time

• While in Prime95 test
  • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
  • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
  • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!

What do you guys think??

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
