Windows 10: HELP PLEASE. Win10 Home Insider Preview Build 19582 broke EasyAntiCheat, final step seems...

Hello all,



Seems like I'll have to either roll back to older Windows 10 version, or just reinstall my current one (or install the latest dev channel update). Either way, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get EAC back online. Problem is I have several hundred gigs of files from 3 different storage devices I simply cant get rid of, and I couldn't find a way to back them all up (free). I couldve sworn I saw the option to create either a system restore point or a backup all files from a built-in setting within Windows?



Ideally, I would love it if Windows simply let me reintsall with the KEEP MY FILES option, but for some dumb reason it will not let me select that as an option.

Can someone help me

Windows 10 Insider Preview Build has never updated

I want to add this for anyone in the future that may come across this post.

I followed the advice of @Ramhound and the links he provided in the comments and created a new VM in Azure from the downloaded image of Build 14295, which was the closest available ISO build. I followed all the steps to connect my MS account to the VM for insider preivew. I changed my insider preview settings to Fast track. I even used my MS account to sign into the VM.

I checked the registry settings as suggested by this article and ensured everything there was correct. Even after all this, I still did not receive the 14316 build.

I diligently checked my machine multiple times per day. I manually checked for updates. I restarted the machine several times. I changed my settings to developer mode. Even after following all these steps, I still did not receive the build.

Finally! Today, after a week of waiting, I logged into the VM, and the build was there. I do not believe any of this extra work I did helped....but I did learn some stuff from this, so it was not a complete waste of time. I think I would have received the build if I would have just left my VM as it was and kept waiting.

tldr - From my experience, I think the best advice is to just be patient and wait. If you have waited a significant amount of time (2 weeks), then maybe look into the other solutions.

 

Uninstall Insider Preview?

To uninstall a preview and rollback to the final version of the Windows 10 May 2019 Update, use these steps:

Open Settings.

Click on Update & Security.

Click on Recovery.

Under the "Go back to the previous version of Windows 10" section, click the Get started button.

Select any reason from the list.

Click the Next button.

Click the No, thanks button.

Click the Next button.

Click the Next button again.

Click the Go back to earlier build button.

After completing the steps, your device will revert to the stable version of Windows 10, and then, you can use the steps below to stop getting Insider builds.

 

where did the insiders hub go in build 10158 it seems to be missing.

Insider Hub: As I mentioned here, the Insider Hub is no longer pre-installed starting with this build. You can reinstall the Insider Hub app through the following steps:

• Go to Settings, System, Apps & features.
• Click Manage optional features then Add a feature.
• Select the Insider Hub entry (the list is in alphabetical order) and click Install.
