    Hi everyone,

Hope I can get some help from specialised technicians here, since this issue has been causing me lots of trouble in the last month and cannot seem to be able to fix it myself.

During the last two months, I've received an update request from Windows 10 which I usually do not load, as during the last years, the many issues introduced by these updates are not really worth the time I spend on them. Although I have been able to fix them all with specialised help and with lots of worries from my side, I am here yet again to ask what happens this time.

So after being asked multiple times to update it and not doing it with no added feature classified as "Critical" in the corresponding list of additions, one day my computer started by disconnecting my USB mouse. I changed to another one, which didn't work either. The mouse works perfectly fine on other computers. After a while working on computer tactile mouse, the system locked audio and internet connection. I was left with no choice but to restart and update the computer and see what was going on. Once I did that, the update was loaded, and when restarting, the system got locked in the black loading screen with the windows logo, after 30 sec, it restarted again, showing messages like "attempting to repair the system" and similar computer language is Spanish, so forgive me for not providing exact prompts. After 10-15 restarts from the system itself, repair mode was opened. From there, neither restarting again, nor turning computer off, helped overcome the issue. I had to restablish to a safe previous point for the system. That worked nicely, and all systems were back to normal...for a while. After a day or so, the same update prompts started appearing on my computer, which I have both ignored and updated right after asking me to do so. First led to a similar case as the initial one: after a few more days, mouse, sound and internet disconnected without any reason, and I had to load the update, which led to locked Windows screen and to restablish the system. Same if I install the update right away.

I have no idea of what to do with it. Malware systems Malwarebytes and antivirus ESET NOD32 say computer is clean. I've tried disabling the latest updates from showing up, but system still asks to update them and disconnects peripherals if I don't do it.

What would you guys recommend to start checking? I am up to doing whatever is needed, but of course a clean installation of the system would be my last resort especially since I do not have the Windows software, as it was included in the laptop already when I bought it. This computer is a work one, and this type of issues become really annoying, so I will very much appreciate any help provided.

Hope you are all staying safe during these difficult times we are going through. Thanks in advance for your responses. Best regards,

    Alberto

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
