HELP !! Unable to boot to Desktop no matter which Windows I install

I don't know what the commands are for the Linux installer you are using, but you need to convert the hard drive you are trying to install it to to GPT. In Windows it is:

    diskpart
    select disk 0
    clean
    convert gpt

(which will erase the hard drive, assuming the drive is the first drive in the system (disk 0).

  2. Since we all are short of time, I am trying to figure this out ASAP. I have chosen the Go Back option (screenshot above) and now i have got this window. Screenshot below. Should I erase the disk and continue with the installation of Lubuntu since I have already formatted it tons of time and there is no data in it. But the question was of UEFI compatibility mode.

Erase and install should format it in GPT mode for UEFI. If not, possibly the Something else option, then use whatever tool it opens to delete all the partitions on the drive and initialize disk as GPT.

    Three things must match:

Computer in UEFI or legacy BIOS mode - it currently looks like you are in UEFI which is what you want.

Installation USB flash drive - if the computer is in UEFI mode, the flash drive must be FAT32 (the partition can be marked as active to make it compatible with both UEFI and legacy BIOS/CSM). If the computer is in legacy BIOS or CSM mode, the flash drive can be either FAT32, or NTFS, but the partition on it must be marked as active.

The hard drive you are installing to - if the computer is in UEFI mode, the hard drive must use the GPT partitioning type. If the computer is in legacy BIOS/CSM mode, the hard drive must use the MBR partitioning type.

CSM is a mode for UEFI booting that simulates legacy BIOS booting so if CSM is enabled, then you would set everything up like it was for legacy BIOS, but that is not what you want if you can avoid it.

  6. Its too technical for a noob like me to understand this as I have become very frustated :-( The above installation failed saying "the grub pc package failed to install into target". I chose 'optimized defaults' before installation. Here is the screenshot of the BIOS, can u please suggest me something so that my PC get back to life. I cant handle this anymore *cry*cry

  7. Amazing. After a lot of fuss I was able to install Windows but with a slight twist. I created two partition during windows 10 installation C: and D and installed Windows in the D Drive and Voila. Could anybody tell me why it was not installing in the C: drive ??

Sounds like the hard drive is bad.

  12. The chkdsk didnt gave me any error log or report. And to my surprise, the scanning which stuck on 10% reached 100 percent with the blink of an eye. Here is the screenshot of the Disk Management. Please also tell me that I want to install Windows 7 in E: drive (as shown in the screenshot) can I do that ? I will shrink the C: drive to around 100 GB and let Windows 7 use the remaining.

HELP !! Unable to boot to Desktop no matter which Windows I install

This is typical of a chkdsk that has found and repaired bad block(s). It can spend a very long time trying to recover data from the bad block then, once past the bad block, speeds up again. Type chkdsk in a command prompt without any switches to display the summary info for the drive. Does it list any bad blocks now? Your initial chkdsk should have written a report that can be read in the Event Viewer.

  14. The chkdsk report shows 0 errors. But here is another problem. I have three hard disks before the BSOD encounter. Now when i attached the remaining hard disks, one is OK and another is showing as 'Foreign' with a yellow error mark. Screenshot below.

Disk 1 above needs to be reinitialized as a stand alone disk. It looks like it was part of a dynamic disk array before. Right click on the disk 1 square and should be a selection to initialize or convert to either MBR or GPT.

Yes, you can install Windows 7 to E: drive. In order to shrink C: drive to add to E: drive you will have to use a program like MiniTool Partition Wizard:
Best Free Partition Manager for Windows | MiniTool Partition Free

MiniTool Partition Wizard would also be an excellent tool to use to deal with Disk 1.
