Windows 10: Help --Where's the download ISO using media creation tool

You can delete that one with no issues.

I decided to not touch the folder yet as I am only using 300gb on an new 3TB hard disk.

Last night, some people reported that they deleted the folder with no problem and others deleted it and got all kinds of errors. So I'm going to wait and see.

I have that file but no iso image --it looks like it's the contents of the ISO.

The /$Windows.~WM sub-folders contain a 2.7gb .esd file you can probably create an ISO from.

ESD-->ISO works just fine.

However this whole tool seems not to be very sensible - and it should not re-download the whole thing again automatically -- you should get a prompt "File exists - overwrite or not".

Who in the world designs these programs at Ms -- they really should get a few "bog standard" USERS in with the tech guys. A few Bog standard users would show the tech guys how easy it is to either mis-understand something or totally hose it up.

Just an update on this thread. just ran the tool and it downloaded and created to C:\ESD (i have 10 Pro anniversary installed)
inside that folder were 2 other folders. Windows and Download
The Windows folder contained all Windows installation files
The Download Folder contained 1 3gb file called installx64.esd (which got removed after the ISO conversion)

I was then left with this screen displaying the location of the ISO file, which converted into a 3.5gb file




So then go to that folder and move it to somewhere safe, cos if you just click on finish it gets removed by the cleanup process.
