    Here Goes . . The Dreaded BSoD critical process died


    Sorry
    I guess this has been beaten to death but, I am in a quandary.

    I'm running Windows 10
    I woke my 5 yr old Sony VAIO from sleep mode, to be met with the above screen
    I have tried; start and each of the advanced options offered.

    I end up, back at the BSoD, critical process died

    Tried booting in safe mode, to be met with . . . . .yep, you guessed; the BSoD, critical process died

    Is there anything I can do, or is this a repair shop job?

    All help gratefully received, but, remember, I'm quite ummm . . . Not young!
    I trained on small steam engines.
    Simple words appreciated
