    Here's a strange one!

Just recently I found that when I started one of my laptops (Win 10 Pro 64) when it reached the desktop display - suddenly my Desktop PC (Win 10 Pro 64) started up on its own*Huh

Has anyone else had this experience? I seem to be getting minor quirks quite frequently recently, despite no changes in hardware - software or settings.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Its just happened again. I had just shut down both the above. After approx 5 minutes, I needed the laptop once again. I started it up - got to the screen prior to when I enter the password, and as soon as I pushed the spacebar on the laptop, this started up the PC

    :)

    Hi,

For us to answer your query about Craigslist, have you tried accessing other websites using the 2 browsers?

We're looking forward to your reply.

Why is every single person pointing fingers at the wrong place? It was the stupid creators update. It killed PCs. It killed mine and obviously it killed theirs.

"I don't want to accept anymore updates from windows. "

Good for you. I did the same thing, i reinstalled and disable updates from the get go, not one update and nothing will happen, it is all lies!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you use an Ethernet connection for the PC ?

If so, look on the PC's Device Manager at the Properties of your Ethernet Controller. On the Power Management tab does it have 'allow this device to wake the computer' ticked?

Your laptop is probably waking the PC by trying to connect to it, perhaps to verify the password (I suspect you may also be using a Homegroup).

Could also be waking on detecting activity from the network, or waking by "magic packet".
(If that's the case, you could consider yourself lucky as many people have no luck in getting this feature to work to wake other computers on their network. *Smile )
