Windows 10: Hesitant to install Feature Update To Windows 10 Version 1909

I'm hesitant installing Feature Update To Windows 10 Version 1909 on my ASUS Laptop after one of my HP 110-090 desktop PCs crashed after the update. I can't have my ASUS PC crash too but I can't fight off the "auto install" demon for my Windows 10 Home version! ANy ideas on how to prevent this update happening ??? Is there a stable update available yet ?

Feature Update to Windows 10, version 1909 is still offered as an optional update. Frankly this update being offered as optional makes me hesitate if I should go ahead to apply it or wait until it is offered as a necessary, not an optional update. I am
under the impression that Microsoft has left it up to users to run this update or continue with the existing version installed on their computers. By the way I have version 1903 installed on my computer. I would appreciate anyone's advice on what to do.

 

Windows 10 version 1909 feature update could not be installed

The update of features of Windows 10, version 1909 x64 the download begins to install stops at 58% which restarts to download again and never completes the installation.
