Are UUID and serial number hardware dependent

Is the uuid(wmic csproduct get uuid) and serialnumber(wmic bios get serialnumber) hardware dependent? Do they remain same even after a reset or reimage.

 

I need help with getting uuid from command prompt. (Critical error)

To retrieve the UUID of your system in Windows, you can try the following steps:



Press Win + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialogue box.

Type cmd and press Enter to open the Command Prompt.

In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and press Enter:

This command will return the UUID of the system. if you encounter any errors or output as you mentioned, you can take a screenshot here and we will go ahead and do some analysis for you to help you .

UUID not available

Good morning everybody!

Recently I installed a program, but i am not able to activate it, because my system appears to have no UUID.

I tried the following in the powershell:

"wmic csproduct get uuid" -or- "wmic csproduct get name"

it returns:

ERROR:

Description = class not registered

"winmgmt /verifyrepository"

it returns:

WMI repository verification failed

Error code: 0x80040154

Facility: Interface

Description: Class not registered

My system (win 10) was (and still is) up to date before the installation of the new software.
