Windows 10: Hibernate missing

Windows 10 is not asking for password after waking up from hibernate mode.

Hi, my computer does not ask for any password upon waking up from hibernate. Is this normal? How do I enable password requirement for waking up from hibernate? I cannot find the option in any settings yet, maybe I missed it. Can anyone help me on this?

 

Unable to hibernate

All of a sudden I am unable to put my Windows 10 laptop into hibernation. In the power options hibernation is missing (there is only sleep, nothing, and shut down available. I had been able to do this previously but hibernation disappeared.

And, when I went to do a roll back to a date I knew hibernation was working there were no longer any restore points.

I have also done malware and virus scans and they are clean

Does anyone know how I can get hibernation back

Open Settings....In find a settings box type power, choose power options, then click on highlighted as shown on attachment.
This will bring up the option hibernate.

 

I will try to reinstall Nvidia it is somehow missing

Double check to make sure that you have enabled hibernate, then check to see if it's available there.

As test, open a command prompt, type the command below and press Enter to see if "hibernate" is an available sleep state on your system.

powercfg /a

 

Will deleting hibernate file fix this?

 

Your report indicates that hibernate is not available for your system. Just to make sure, check your UEFI firmware settings to see if you may have a "Hibernate" setting that needs to be enabled to then be able to enable and turn on in Windows.

 

I have old award bios and 256 gb mbr partition

 

What brand and model is your motherboard?

If it's an OEM PC, what brand and model PC is it instead?

I'll be happy to look it up to see what I can find out about that model.

For now, do you have all drivers for the motherboard/PC installed?
