    Hibernation & fast startup not working since 1903 update. System hang after hibernate or...


    After last update v1903, when I put my computer to hibernate or shutdown (with fast startup enabled) and try to power on ,

    the system hang on Dell log and not started. I am forced to Shutdown it again (with power off button) and power on to start it.


    PS/ When i hibernate Window, a 'Lock screen' apear first then a black screen, the laptop he take a time to shutdown (as normal behavior).

    No hiberfile.sys created after reboot but disk space for hibernation stay allocated.




    I am not sure if it's an issue or no on v1903 (it's not listed on know issues list)



    What I've tried:

    • All drivers (BIOS, chipset, graphic card ....) are updated to last version
    • Tried everything. (All troubleshoot Sleep/Hibernate mode problems)


    I deleted old version 1803, so cant roll back.



    My Specs:

    Dell XPS 13 9365 2in1

    Windows 10 x64 1903 - Build 18362.239

    hibernate and fast start


    I am having trouble with hibernate and fast start. I found in one article in the forum that stated:
    • If you disable hibernate, fast startup will also get disabled.
    ​Does the opposite hold true then: If hibernate is enabled, fast startup is also enabled?

    Since updating to Windows May 2019 Update (1903), 'hibernate' no longer works.

    The screen will go black, but the laptop does not shut off. If I wiggle the mouse, the lock screen appears. Another thing odd is, when I pick hibernate from the power menu, the screen goes blue for a moment with the word 'Locking...' in the center...not
    sure if that means anything.

    Under version 1809, I had to disable Fast Startup to get Hibernate to work, but it did work. Under 1903, I can't get hibernate to work.

    Hibernating on my XP pro system doesn't work

    Can anyone help me please?
    I have just reloaded XP Pro on my system using the same software as before, no new hardware or software has been introduced.

    Since doing this the system appears to go through the Hibernation process as it closes, but when I start again by pressing the Power button the system goes through the normal start up, not the quicker hibernate mode.

    I have selected Enable Hibernate in the Control Panel>Power options?

    Any constructve suggestions out there?
