Windows 10: hibernation turned on, at times, my laptop refuses to hibernate

Nice thread. While I have hibernation turned on, at times, my laptop refuses to hibernate. I've read there may be apps that can influence whether I can hibernate my PC. Is there an easy way to identify which apps have this annoying "feature" so I can either disable or uninstall them?

ATItool screws up hibernating

Hey all...

I use ATItool for my OC purposes on my Acer 1681Wlmi laptop, and it works great. I just have one issue though: whenever I change the clocks using ATItool and then hibernate (or go to standby), I get garbage onscreen when I turn on my laptop again. I've got an MR9700 64MB, 1.5GHz PM.

Any help / suggestions??

Edit : forgot to mention, I use the latest omega drivers without radlinker.

Battery drain in hibernation

This is a volunteers forum. We cannot fix anything for you!

I would start by taking these steps:

1. Put Windows into hibernation.
2. Get it out of hibernation.
3. Check the time stamp of the hidden file C:\Hiberfil.sys. Does it reflect the time when you took Step 1 above? If it does not then the machine was not in hibernation.
4. Before going to bed, make a note of the battery charge.
5. Switch the machine off and unplug the power cord.
6. Next morning, before plugging in the power cord but after turning it on, make another note of the battery charge. If there is a noticeable discharge then you have a leaky battery or a problem with the motherboard. Windows can't be the culprit because it
   was off all night.

 

Laptop Video Garbled After Standby / Hibernate

Turn off hibernate/standby

Right click an empty spot on the desktop, go to properties, select the screensaver tab, and on the bottom of the page click the power button. In this menu turn off all hibernate/standby features.
