    What do you mean by not a full taskbar? I have an English copy.

    Some have reported that if the taskbar was full the search box would automatically switch to the search icon until more space was available on the taskbar.

    Quite frankly, I'm not sure why you two do not have "Show search box" in the context menu.

    I've seen on other forums people saying the same thing (actual windows forums).... the fixes came from your site actually, which is what led me here.

    I found the solution....... Get ready for this......

    Go into your toolbar settings and uncheck use small icons.... Took me a windows format to figure that out when we set it back to small icons it disappeared.... You can credit David Strausser with the fix *Smile lol Funny, huh?

    Now we did do a a restore before we figured out that option was what was causing us trouble.

    I upgraded by laptop on release day, and had the search box there initially and it was default.

    Just upgraded my desktop and it was the small cortana icon. I do not have small icons enabled...

    Lol, I know I can go into cortana to do searches if necessary, but would really like it to display the entire search box in the taskbar. It was quite a hassle on my laptop with a smaller screen, thus taking up room, but on my larger monitor, it would be nice.

    EDIT: Normally you should have the option to show search box, but all I have is show cortana icon or hide.

    Odd. As a test, turn on small icons, apply, and turn off small icons and apply to see if it may toggle it back.

    Tried that again, but have tried that before even with restarting in between changing the settings.

    What is your screen resolution set to? If it's lower than 1024 x 768, it will not have the search box available either.
