Windows 10: Hide or Show Windows Updates in Windows 10

Thanks! I guess option 5 could work, but that is kind of a hassle every time I want to update and not worth it. I like window 8.1 so I'll stick with it.

 

There are two updates with the same name that I need to hide because they crashes my video drivers. But with this tool I am able to hide only one of them (even if I select both - only first hides). Is there any way to fix this?

If both entries have the same name, then usually it'll be the same update, and one may just be a newer version.

Please post a screenshot showing this to see what the issue could be.

What happens when you select to hide the other one after you had already hidden the first one?

 

The message says it was successfully hidden, but in fact - it doesn't and still shows only one as hidden. As on screens above.

 

Does it still show as an available update in Windows Update?

 

Yes, Windows Update forces me to install this...

 

Odd, I must admit that I'm not sure what else to suggest since you are limited in your options in Windows 10 Home. *Sad

Did you already turn off automatically download and install drivers?

I think the problem is in the same name of those updates.
Btw, it is Pro, not Home.

 

Will I be able to choose which updates I'd like to install?

 

I'm afraid not in Windows 10. *Sad

 

Sorry all ... but why not just disable it in the Taskmanager and then reable it manually when you want to use WinUpdate again ... or doesn't it work longterm??
Note: I haven't rebooted since I disabled Windows Update, so I don't know for sure if it's enabled after reboot or not, but I would think it works from then on.

If you mean to just end the process in Task Manager, then yeah it'll just get automatically started again the next restart or scheduled task.

 

Hi. After reading through the 8 pages of show/hide updates I haven't found my problem listed. I can unhide updates but when I go back to see if they are shown they're back in hidden updates again! Except for Windows specific updates. I wish I saved a screenshot of the programs that would not move into the shown updates column but just a few examples are several Intel updates, Broadcom Bluetooth Adapter and some other non-Microsoft related updates. So after 2 weeks of frustration I tried a different approach which worked. Open Device Manager and place the show/hide update screen beside it. Go down the list and select let Microsoft locate the best driver for each item on the list. Every one had an update available & installed it. And even better, the hidden update list was empty after restarting the PC. Go figure!
