  1. High CPU and fan after windows update of KB4019472, KB3150513

    Hello,

Earlier today, Windows 10 gave me an alert that it had to restart, giving me the option to postpone or proceed with the restart. So I shut down my apps and went ahead with the restart. I took a break and came back a couple hours later. Found that my laptop's fan was running loud and a lot of disk activity.
Checked in the process monitor window and could not see any specific app that was taking up cpu or disk.
I looked at the Installed Updates to see that two new updates were added today:

    KB4019472 and KB3150513

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue or if anyone knows what the proper way to resolve?
For the moment, I am trying to uninstall these two updates.
My laptop is a Sony Vaio SVS15 with Intel I5 and Geforce GT640.

    :)

    System slow after Update

If the Fan is running full speed, making it loud, that suggests your computer is running hot which suggests your CPU is running at capacity. Here are some possible fixes:

  4. High CPU and fan after windows update of KB4019472, KB3150513

    a followup:
I was not able to uninstall the two KB mentioned above. Windows reported that the uninstall was unsuccessful and would roll them back on. I tried a couple more times but same result.
So later I went into the power management and found that the fan speed settings had been change from low and quiet to balanced and more noisy even though the onboard switch was set for "stamina" i.e. lower cpu throttling.
I was able to set back as before.
However, another problem cropped up. Seems the laptop can no longer see any network pc including itself.
Really disappointed with this windows 10 update, caused waste day or more with no resolution!

You might have been able to use system restore to remove them.

Otherwise, we continually recommend using disk imaging for Windows partitions and your data disks and partitions in case something goes badly wrong. (E.g. Macrium reflect (free) ).

Note that different versions of 3150513 are being installed periodically, so this will appear repeatedly in your Update History.
