  1. High CPU usage in state repository service

    Windows 10 Pro, Build 1803

    Ryzen 1600, 16gb RAM

Since a few days ago every 5 - 10 minutes the CPU usage will spike at roughly 80% on all 12 threads. Causing games and other media to stutter. The task manager states that an process called "state repository service" is the culprit. I have found various solutions online but non of them seams to work permanently. The only app/programm I installed since was Netflix. Removing this app didn´t help.

    I´ve tried also:

    - Repair/reseting MS Edge

    - Reinstall apps via powershell

    - Shuting down the service manuelly helps for a short time. Until Windows decides to start the service again on its own, or I have to reboot/shutdown the system

I´ve also read that uninstalling the "fall creators update" and reinstalling it with the ethernet cable unplucked would help. Unfortunately I´m not able to find the mentiond update in my update history.

Is there a way to deactivate this service permanently or solve this problem otherwise? i am not very keen on reinstalling Windows...

    :)

  3. High CPU usage in state repository service after clean install of Fall Creators Update while online via ethernet

Hi, Thanks a lot for your suggestions and I have faced the same problem of
    Fall Creators Update
and it was taking High CPU usage for State Repository Service. I tried some of the ways and I have got the solution.

No. 1: I haved repaired the Microsoft Edge

No. 2: I have Restart the State Repository Service from Computer Management.

It was working for me to solve the Start Repository service in Windows 10. Though I tried the best ways from

    here
to solve another PC. For example, disabling the service from
    MSConfig or by using PowerShell.

I will suggest fixing the issues when trying to Ethernet. Do first two ways and if do not get the issues fixed, then try the other two ways.

Hope you will get the solution, otherwise follow the link for details guideline or ask me here with your exact issues. Thanks again for your support. High CPU usage in state repository service :)

Windows 10 Fresh install , State Repository Service locking system

    Hi Clayton,

In some cases, a corrupted user profile can cause inaccessible programs and can make your system unusable. As such, the
State Repository Service provides the framework for several Windows functions and components. Oftentimes, it is normal to occupy CPU and memory resources, and does not indicate anything is broken and needs to be fixed.

For us to rectify your concern, we suggest following the link provided by
    ParkerGorecki
which was given on this thread:
