Windows 10: High Definition Audio Device gone, including in the device manager

Hi there
I just updated Windows and the High Definition Audio stuff is straight up gone
It's not even here in the device manager anymore
The only place i found it is in the MsInfo, under "problem device", all it says is that it "can't start"
I tried reinstalling the drivers but nothing changed
I tried to find how to properly uninstall the drivers before reinstalling them, but since the guides always just talk about removing them in the Device Manager, where it doesn't show up for me, i'm seriously stuck
Does anyone have an idea, please?

AMD High Definition Audio Device Not Plugged In

John,

Thanks for your suggestion, but the sound playback device was greyed out again this morning and reads: "AMD High Definition Audio Device Not Plugged In".

Once again, uninstalling AMD High Definition Audio Device and deleting the driver in the Device Manager and rebooting brought the sound device back.

Any other ideas?

 

High Definition Audio Device drivers missing

The High Definition Audio drivers are built into Windows already

Right click that device in Device Manager, choose 'Update Driver

Then choose 'Browse my computer for Driver Software' - 'Let me pick from a list of available drivers'

If you do not see the default High Definition Audio device, untick 'Show Compatible Hardware'

On the left, select Microsoft, then on the right scroll down to find 'High Definition Audio Device Version 10.0. . . . .

 

(code 45) high definition audio devices not found

I have two high definition audio devices in the device manager that states: Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer. How to fix it? A Microsoft agent
suggested that I uninstalled it from the device manager, restart it and it should automatically install. Now, it is gone. Can't find it in the device manager. How to get it back?
