Windows 10: High Latency, sound corruption and pops after watching audio - video. Problem still not solved.

This problem is from day one with my computer. I haven't been able to fix it although I have tryed many solution the last three years. Everything is up to date, video drivers, motherboard drivers, latest firmware, all windows updates, everything looks ok, and has been updated several times in the last three years anyway.Still, i can not solve this problem, nor there seems to be a solid answer what causes it. Sure there are some solutions, but non worked properly so far. I even set my SATA as suggested elsewhere to ACHI/NVME and turned RAID off, but then the pc wouldn't boot. Soundblaster drive

Hi, if you search tenforums for Latencymon, for example, you will find other threads which might suggest a way forward.

Diagnosing this problem is not straightforward.

One approach is to simplify hardware as much as possible, another to use a somewhat daunting tool from MS, the Windows Performance Recorder (tutorial available).




Similarly if you search tenforums for references to this you will see some example screenshots.

High DPC latency / Sound pops and clicks

I understand the high DPC latency and popping sounds you're experiencing. Here are a few additional steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Disable Network Adapters: Sometimes, network adapters can cause high DPC latency. Go to 'Device Manager', find your network adapters, right-click them, and select 'Disable device'. If this resolves the issue, you might need to update your network adapter drivers or consider using a different network adapter.
   
2. Check for Conflicting Software: Certain software, like antivirus programs, can cause high DPC latency. Try disabling any non-essential software and see if the issue persists.
   
3. Disable C-States in BIOS: C-States are power-saving modes for your CPU. Disabling them can sometimes resolve DPC latency issues. To do this, reboot your computer, enter your BIOS setup (usually by pressing F2, F10, or DEL during bootup), and look for an option to disable C-States.

As for the "Couldn't find" error when trying to register hdaudbus.sys, this file is a system driver, and system drivers typically can't be registered with regsvr32 because they don't contain a DllRegisterServer entry point. The error message is normal and doesn't indicate a problem.

Audio and Video Tearing - High DPC Latency in LatencyMon

I'm having some audio and video issues. They're most prevalent while playing games (Warhammer 2 and ESO, mainly) and the issues cause the games to stutter, drop FPS, and the audio becomes corrupted. This also occurs when starting the PC. The audio is corrupted and the mouse cursor jumps a bit.

I'm not sure what I need to post for you to investigate these issues, but let me know and I'll do it.

I noticed, however, dxgkrnl.sys and storport.sys have extraordinarily high DPC latency in LatencyMon.

This is what I've done so far to fix these issues:

* sfc/scannow
* healthcheck
* updated my audio driver
* used DDU in safemode and updated my GPU driver
* updated my chipset
* reset my pc

The following is what I see in LatencyMon. The spikes happen randomly and result in the torn audio and video issues.





I'm lost and I have no idea what to do now. Thanks in advance.
