Windows 10: High ping in all online games... Please help!

I couldn't find a solution anywhere online so I just had to make a post.


Recently, I went ahead and bought a new graphics card for my desktop PC. I'm aware that the graphics card shouldn't have any significant affect on the internet speed but I just wanted to point out that my ping only started to spike after I installed the new graphics card. Also, keep in mind that my ping is really good in every other occasions. It ONLY spikes when I play online games.


Here are the specs for my computer:

Processor IntelR CoreTM i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz

Video Card: Radeon RX 570 series

Ram: 8.0 GB

OS: Windows 10

Wireless WiFi adapter to connect to the internet


So far, the games I have tested are csgo, gta 5 online and league of legends. I noticed that as soon as I play these online games, my game momentarily freezes every few seconds, sometimes leading to game disconnection. However, something unusual I came across while playing around with the settings in league of legends was that when the game's fps was capped to 60, the ping became really good and stable whereas with uncapped fps the ping increased again to the point that it was unplayable. I'm not sure what this is indicative of but this doesn't seem to be an average internet connection problem. There must be a problem with my windows or computer system but I just can't figure out what the problem is.

Windows 10 High Ping on Games

Is it before the CSGO update or after. Lots of people are reporting this issue after the update. They are saying that the new update has messed up the routing or something. I would suggest to try connection optimizer like Kill Ping. It will bypass all the
nodes in between and directly connect you to game server.

But first do these steps given in the guide for CSGO

Games for HIGH ping?

I've got a few friends that I want to play games with, but we are quite far away from each other so we have a 300ms ping.
So, are there any small games (preferably free) in which high ping will not lower the gaming experience?
