Windows 10: Hissing sound on USB Headset

When connecting a USB headset windows produces a terrible hissing sound/compression artifacts over the normal sound playing. This is more pronounced when playing louder sounds and substantially worse when the headset is in 7.1 mode instead of stereo. The problem doesn't always happen, but only a restart seems to help sometimes. The windows installation is new (in the old installation the problem was unbearably worse), in Linux there hasnt ever been any issue. Any Idea on how fix this?

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

I appreciate it I was more looking to see if anyone knows something that can fit my bill in that budget. Trust me I know all about the $300 range and even considered audio technica m50x with a condenser mic *Stick Out Tongue

 

Getting sound with bluetooth headset

HI, I have bluetooth Samsung Gear Circle headset and a SoundBlaster Jam bluetooth headset. Both pair fine, both connect fine. No sound. They do not show up in "Select Device Playback". (Speakers and USB headphones show up in that list). I know that
they both worked at one time or another, but not this time. Am I missing a step?
