Windows 10: Ho do you fix PXE-E61 on a hp computer

PXE-E61 MEDIA TEST FAILED, CHECK CABLE PXE-MOF EXITING PXE ROM

Hi,

I am getting the following error on my
Dell Studio 1747

PXE-E61 MEDIA TEST FAILED, CHECK CABLE

PXE-MOF EXITING PXE ROM

The hard drive is seen when I hit F2 and look at the specs

I have taken the hard drive out and reinstalled. It did not help but the computer still recognizes the hard drive.

Any suggestions?

My computer was working fine this morning. Tonight when I went to turn it on it gave me the PXE-E61 error and PXE-M0F. I have tried looking up the problem but can't figure it out. Someone said it was a microsoft update problem.

Did you made any changes to your PC?

From the error information you have provided herewith, it seems that the problem is related to BIOS and Hardware settings. Usually you can see this error
PXE-E61 Media Test Failure, when all the following are true:

• Boot to LAN is enabled in BIOS Setup.
• A network cable/connection is not present.
• Network Boot is in the boot order before a present boot device.

You can fix this issue, by removing Boot to LAN from the list of boot devices in BIOS Setup. BIOS settings and setup key depends on the device you're using. For doing this, I suggest you to take help of your device Manufacturer for making
these changes correctly and safely.
