    home network unstable

    Hi All

I am running Win 10 1903 on two computers on my home network.

The main computer's folder/files keeps dropping out of the network and need resetting about every few days, then it is fine for another few days before dropping out again. It still maintains the network printer access.

The main computer is linked to the Netgear wireless modem with a data cable the second by Wi-Fi.

The second computers file/folders are always visible on the main computer and never drops out.

Resetting it always works, but why do I have to keep resetting it?

    A little frustrated...

    :)

Did our Epson printer get hacked?

Another question, is this on a home network or a work network? The steps @eidairaman1 listed are always a good first step. If this is on a work network you manage, I'd be much more concerned than the home one. It is possible someone is screwing with you, but malware could also be the culprit.

  3. Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

    1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
    2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
    3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.
    Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
    3. Select add someone else on this PC.
    4. Enter a user name and hit next.
    5. Click on Finish.
    6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

    Very unstable local network

For Home Networking, It is best to assign a static IP address for each device and this is done in the router, so each time you turn on a device, the exact same IP will be assigned to it. This will avoid the problem with DNS cache out of sync between the device(s) and the router & conflict IP assignment.

For example, let say you have 3 PC's: PC1, PC2 and PC3. When you turn on the PC's:
    1. 192.168.1.2 is assigned to PC1
    2. 192.168.1.3 is assigned to PC2
    3. 192.168.1.4 is assigned to PC3
Now, shutdown P2 and PC3 then turn PC3 back on first, The router DHCP might assign 192.168.1.3 to PC3 and your PC3 DNS cache still have 192.168.1.4 assigned to it. So the DNS cache in your PC3 is out of sync, you'd need to flush & renew the DNS cache in your PC3 to reflect the change using: ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /renew

With static IP assignment (Fixed IP) you would not have this problem no matter which PC you turn on first because the IP is bound to the network adapter MAC ID and always be the same. Here's a screen shot of my Home Network and I have about ~20 devices: Smart TV's, android, Iphone, PC's etc.... and never have any problem.
