  1. Home Networking

Okay i'm getting really tired of Windows and the way home networking works.

    So here's what's happening.....

I use a TP-Link gaming router 8 port with an Arris Bluecurve cable modem.

I have 5 hardwired PC's on the router and 7 wireless connections.

My PC and my Gaming Laptop are the only ones able to communicate on the network (Hardwired and Wireless). All systems are seen in the Network folder, BUT they are not accessible to one another.

I have gone through all the trouble shooting steps, turning on services, enabling file/printer sharing, etc etc etc. Before HomeGroup got removed (pre 1803) All systems were able to talk to each other. Now only my Desktop and my Gaming Laptop are able to communicate. The other systems (3) give an error message that they are not accessible on the network. I can see them but not access them. All systems have the same updates as my PC and Laptop.

It's not AV, we all use Windows Defender. It's not the router, as the same thing happens using the built in router on the cable modem. It's not the hardware, because all but 1 system was built by me and are practically identical, (mobo, processor, ram, graphics card, etc)

All systems are running 1809 now (except the phones using wireless).

Microsoft NEEDS to FIX their home networking for the common home user. As a gamer I had no choice but to upgrade to Windows 10 to take advantage of Direct X 12. Otherwise I would have stayed with Windows 7, where the network worked perfectly!!!

So does anyone have any ideas as to what I should try next???

    :)

Did our Epson printer get hacked?

Another question, is this on a home network or a work network? The steps @eidairaman1 listed are always a good first step. If this is on a work network you manage, I'd be much more concerned than the home one. It is possible someone is screwing with you, but malware could also be the culprit.
