Windows 10: How can I change my Accounts from “Users” to “Administrator” ?

Hi,

I use Windows 10 pro and I am the sole user. After Resetting my computer my “Administrator” status has changed to “Users”. In the CMD command prompt, it shows;c:\users\my mane>. Can you please tell me how I can change back to as Administrator without changing my computer’s interface? It obstacles Back-up.

In the Account Settings, status shows as "Administrator" but in the 'Control Panel’s 'User Account' section, the status is “Standard” and it does not accept radio button of “Administrator”.

Could you please give a solution to set status in my computer as “Administrator”?

How do you change a user account to an administrator account in Windows 10?

I would suggest you to go to control panel and check your user account status. Right click on the start button and select control panel in the menu. In the control panel, click on the 'view by' option in the top right and select 'large icons'. Now, click
on 'User accounts' and check if your account is listed as Administrator. If it is not displayed as Admin account, click on the option 'Change user account type' and select 'Administrator' and apply changes. Try these steps and let us know the results. If you

Changing Administrator in User Account

• Go to Start.
• Look for Control Panel.
• Select User Accounts.
• Then look for Manage another user's account.
• Select your old account and then delete it.

How to change user account type back to administrator on Windows 10?

As you are facing issues with changing the user account type back to administrator, we will help you with this issue.

I would like to inform that you can try to enable the built-in administrator account, log-in with the admin account, change the user account type of previous account back to administrator and check if it helps.

Step 1: Follow the steps to Enable Built-in administrator.

• Press Windows + X key together on your desktop screen.
  
• Click on Command Prompt (admin) to open Command Prompt.
  
• Type the following command and hit Enter:
• net user administrator /active:Yes (Check for the spaces)
• Now log off from the current user and try to login to the administrator account that is enabled.
  

Note: Please follow the same steps and type
net user administrator /active:no to disable admin account after the troubleshooting is done.

Step 2: Change the account type.

• Press Windows + R keys from the Keyboard.
  
• Type netplwiz and click on Ok.
  
• Click on the Users tab.
• Under Users of this computer: select the account you want to change.
  
• Click on Properties button.
• Under Group Membership tab and select Administrator as user account type.
  
• Click on Apply and Ok.
