How Can I Completely Remove Antimalware Service Executable

I recently formatted windows 10 and I found that antimalware service exectuable was taking all of my memory and disk space. I did try to remove it for 10 hours, and reformatted windows10 about 3~4 times. But I couldn't remove it. And I followed How to stop Antimalware Service Executable in Windows 10 - YouTube steps, but it doesn't work. How can I remove or disable antimalware service exectuable. I'm very very raged now. I loved windows 10 before antimalware service exectuable. But I'll maybe change to linux if i can't remove it. PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

  3. Completely Remove Antimalware Service Executable

Hi Rudie. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activation, here to help you.

    1) Here are the fixes working for others for Anti-Malware Service Executable high RAM and disk usage:

    https://www.techbout.com/antimalware-service-ex...

    https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/antimal...

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/for...

    https://www.99mediasector.com/working-antimalwa...

    2) This can also go to the install quality. We know this because no one of millions who has done a gold standard Clean Install has ever come back to report further problems:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

    3) Until then you can go over Windows using this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

    4) Update your drivers and BIOS/UEFI firmware from the PC or motherboard maker's Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

Updating drivers from the Device Manager or Windows Update is rarely enough. The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is keep the latest manufacturer's drivers installed from their Support Downloads web page. Everything else depends on this.

    5) If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, is the most stable method to advance to the latest version, and solves most problems. As to Linux:

So you still have a safety net, you can add Linux in a Dual Boot following this guide:

    https://www.groovypost.com/howto/dual-boot-wind...

Or you can trial it from within Windows using a VM as shown here:

    https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/install-linux-win...

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.

  4. How Can I Completely Remove Antimalware Service Executable

    Completely Remove Antimalware Service Executable

Hi RudieG, welcome to the Microsoft community, my name is Bruno Leonel, I am happy to help you.

I understand that you are having problems regarding the Antimalware Service Executable and I am very sorry for this discomfort. I will try to help you as best I can.

In this case, you will not be able to remove the anti-malware service executable as it is a feature that is intrinsic to the Windows kernel, but you can disable it. However, performing the steps below, all Windows Defender components will be disabled and the computer will be unprotected.

If you really want to disable it, I suggest you get another antivirus. If you install another antivirus, Windows Defender will be disabled by default.

    Completely disable the feature.

To carry out the procedure, you must perform the following steps:

    open regedit

Go to the following path: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Security\HealthService

Change the Start Type to 3

Go to Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), Startup tab, locate the Windows Defender icon, right-click and disable.

    Restart the computer.

NOTE: All Windows Defender components and others (such as Windows Defender Security Center) will be completely disabled.
