Windows 10: How can I enable game bar overlays for full screen games?

So I’m extremely distraught after I spent months getting used to using a custom crosshair on my games. I have to run most of what I play on full screen. I have been using the game bar to provide overlay to see who is talking in party’s as well as my crosshair. Out of no where it just stops working. None of my click through widgets will work with anything on full screen anymore. I have gotten it to work once since then with apex and valorant but fortnite just will not work. Everything is updated I feel like I’ve tried everything. I’ve searched for hours for an answer. All I could find was fixed

I recently turned on the game bar to screen record my screen; when I went to turn it off and adjust the volume, an overlay popped up next to the volume controls. it used to do this through chrome and i turned that flag setting off. But now the game bar overlay
won't go away. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

I keep getting an error message when starting some games: "can't open ms-gaming overlay link"

None of the suggestions I found on google were helpful, like disabling the XBox gaming bar or the Steam's overlay.

Nothing works.
