Windows 10: How can I enter "male" symbol using my Alt keyboard [w/o warnings!]

Hello

How can I enter the "male" symbol using my alt keyboard?
If I hold down the Alt key and then hit 12 on my numberic characters on extended keyboard it appears, but then my text editor moans:
"Warning: Some characters cannont be converted to code page 1252 (ANSI - Latin I). Do you want to save anyway?"

Yes I could save but I don't want that message every time I try to save my text file and also is there not a better way of saving?

resetting keyboard symbols

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I would suggest you to remove English UK and just have the default English US under keyboard input language and check.

Step 1:To keep English US as the default input language and to remove other installed services

a. Type Settings in the search bar and click on the setting symbol on the top right.

b. Click on Time and Languages.

c. Click on Region and Languages.

d. Under the languages tab.

e. Click and Change the language to English US.

Step 2:Use on screen keyboard to type the characters (@, “)

To use on-screen keyboard, follow the steps below.

a. Click on Start; type “On-screen” without quotes and hit Enter.

b. Now check if you’re able to get right characters.

Question mark on Portuguese (Brazil) ABNT Keyboard - Shift + Alt + W doesn't work

I can't type a question mark while using the Portuguese keyboard, though I can get most other symbols. Keyboard shortcuts that others have posted about (Shift + Alt + w) doesn't work on my logitech bluetooth keyboard on or my Lenovo.
