Windows 10: how can i fix my touch pad and my usb ports by my self i am sure its just some thing i did...

my laptop touchpad suddenly stopped working no idea why I tried to search for a solution on Google and tried something but ended up with more problems two of my USB ports don't work now i have only tried my mouse in them and my touch is still not working please someone help

I seem to have lost the use of the touch pad. I have a mouse (via usb port) but if I take the mouse out, I cannot use the pad. Is there a simple thing to do to get this action back??

I have a semi new Lenovo laptop ThinkPad T450s with a new hard drive. After installing Windows 10 the touch pad doesn't work. It did however work before. I have spent all day trying to read up on how I may solve this to no avail. Therefore I am writing my own help request. Here is a list of things I have tried;


Not Fn + F5
tried updating drives
not in device manager
not in control panel - mouse properties doesn't give me touch pad option (picture 2) nor is it anywhere in the control panel under deivices to be found
Activated in BIOS
I tried taking some steps I read online in the Registration Entries but files seemed to be missing (perhaps here is the problem) but only ended up making my USB mouse to stop working so that didn't do the trick.
Synaptic pointing device is under View and show hidden devices.
Not sure what to do about the yellow exclamation mark but it says error "This device is not present, is not working properly or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)"

Hi Brian,

You can disable Touch pad from the Device Manager. Make sure that the mouse is already plugged in before disabling the touch pad. To disable Touch pad, follow these steps:

• Press and hold Windows logo key + R.
• Type Devmgmt.msc in the Run command dialog box.
• Press Enter.
• Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
• Right-click on the first HID-compliant mouse entry.
• Select Disable.
• Hit Yes.
