Windows 10: How can I fix the greyed out options when I try to delete, format or create partition?

When I try to install windows on my brand new Acer laptop I can’t figure out why I can’t select a partition to download the windows 11 on it, I’ve tried formatting the ssd but couldn’t figure out a way to do it in uefi shell, and I can’t even delete, create or format any partition as these options are greyed out with the only available options remaining: refresh and load driver, please help me

Run CMD


1. diskpart
2. list disk

Then in the 3º step, put the correct number of disk in the list for the usb flash (if it's listed in disk 3, then you'll have to write select disk 3).

2. select disk #
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

with that commands you will format the flash drive in fat32, if you have a large drive you can select also "format fs=ntfs" in step 7.

How To: Create recovery partition.

it worked when i copied all the files of the disk to the recovery partition i created, but i had to use WinPE tab to add the entry.

Type: WIM Image (Ramdisk)
Name: Recovery
Path: Z:\Sources\boot.wim
and hit Add Entry
I tried it in VirtualBox and it worked.
At first, it would add a second "Windows 7" entry to the list, but when the installation is finished, the old one is deleted. (I formatted only C: partition)

 

Recover lost data from deleted/formated partition

full format = datas gone.
