Windows 10: How can I force windows to update?

Windows Update will not work. All of the needed updates say pending download. Also, my outlook is now disconnected. I have searched and tried different solutions including being directed here: https://www.microhttps://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows10soft.com/en-au/software-download/windows10 When I try to do the update from that site, it cannot continue. When I click on Microsoft help, it says

AADSTS50196: The server terminated an operation because it encountered a client request loop. Please contact your app vendor.

Yet, if I go directly to windows.com I can sign in without problem. I have spent nearly two days trying to get this to work. I even went into "Services" to manually force Background Intelligent Transfer Service to run. When I set it to automatic, and reboot, it changes to stopped.

I was also going to suggest Autoruns.

Check to make sure it isn't attaching itself to explorer. It should be the 3rd thing listed in Autoruns, the listing for the Shell. It should just be Explorer.exe. If it is anything else, that might be your problem.

As you have mentioned that the laptop had fallen it might have caused some hardware issues too. I suggest you to be in touch with manufacturer of the PC. You may also refer the link below and follow the steps suggested.
