Windows 10: How can I get my USB microphone CMTECK Computer Microphone CR-600/600R to work. Have...

I recently did a recovery on my desktop computer, did a fresh install of Windows 10 without saving any files or settings. Now I cannot get my microphone to work. Cannot even talk with Cortana.

Microphone help

I don't think I have Azalia. I'm not exactly sure how to tell whether or not I have it. Also, the mic won't work when I connect it to the front. It only works when I connect it in the back. And like, I can hear myself if I record it, just, on my moms computer as i'm talking into the mic I can hear myself on the microphone at the same time as I talk into it. Any suggestions? =(

 

Windows 10 No microphone will work

Sorry about the long response time. Work sucks sometime.

I tried both a headset microphone and the usb microphone on another Windows 10 computer. It did not pick up any microphone signal and was showing the same emulated sound output as I noted before.

That is what is really bothering me. Both computers detect the microphones, yet output is being directed to them as well as any plugged in speaker/headphone.

This issue could have happened due to settings of your Microphone. To resolve your issue, we suggest that you check your Microphone is not disabled and set as default. You can follow these steps to check your microphone settings:

• Right click on the volume icon and select “Recording devices”.
• Now, right click on an empty space and select, “Show disconnected devices” and “Show disabled devices”.
• Select “Microphone” and click on “Properties” and make sure that the microphone is enabled.
• You may also check if the microphone that you are using is set as default.
