Windows 10: How can I get tent mode to work on a Dell Latitude 7420 2 in 1

Since upgradeing to Windows 11 my laptop does not work in tent mode, i have to fold the screen all the way over to get it to tablet mode otherwise the keypad is not switched off and the display does not rotate, its very frustrating. thank you

Good article here. I've seen 3 primary issues with the Latitude 7420. 1) WiFi disconnects especially on WD19 dock, 2) USB Microphone issues, and slow boot times on 1.9.6. I was stumped for hours trying to figure out why one 7420 took a full minute + to POST vs another 7420 which was 5 seconds. Turns out if you rollback from 1.9.6 to 1.9.3 it's nice and quick again. Hopefully Dell gets this cleaned up in BIOS 1.10 or later. I recently went out to Intel's website to pull down 22.80.1 to see if that helps clear up the event logs. As far as the Jabra usb mic issue the only tried and true fix I've found is reset/reimage computer if reinstalling the realtek audio driver doesn't hold up. Still very much work in progress for this model.

I am also experiencing the same issue with a Dell Latitude 7420 with 32GB of RAM. My suspicion has been bad RAM, but because it is on the motherboard, I cannot remove to test. When I contacted Dell, they insist that there are no hardware problems because all diagnostics are passed. I have reimaged this machine multiple times, tried all driver updates... removed all driver updates. Ran driver updates from Intel vs. Dell, etc. I will test the C-States Control disable to see if it helps. Please update if you hear of any additional suggestions.

Do we know the root cause for this issue? Is this about a hardware error that Dell tries to mitigate with a BIOS update that actually disables some functionality? Why does'nt all 7420's have this problem?
