How can I get Windows 10 to stop asking me to confirm my app choices?

I have associated a number of non-standard Windows apps with various file types, but Windows 10 likes to question my choices by displaying the application choice dialog with my already selected app checked and asking me to confirm "always use this app to open". This is annoying and getting more frequent. It used to happen only every month or two, but now, for example, it asks me every time I open a video file (mp4, wmv, etc.) to confirm that I want to open it with VLC, which I have already configured as my default "Video Player". How can I get Windows to stop this annoying behavior? I am running Windows 10 Pro x64 20H2.

    :)

  2. welcome screen is not asking if i like the spotlight choice

    Hi,

One of the possible reasons why your laptop is not asking if you like the spotlight choice might be because the Windows spotlight is not set as your lock screen background. To address this concern, we suggest enabling Windows spotlight as your lock screen
background. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Go to Settings.
    • Click on Personalization and then select Lock screen.
    • Under Background, click on the drop down menu and make sure to click on Windows spotlight.

If further assistance is needed, don't hesitate to reply on this thread.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Launch the Store from your Start menu.
    • Click the user icon next to the search box.
    • Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
    • Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
    • When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”

Disabling Browser Choice Screen in WIndows 10

How do I disable the Browser Choice Screen in Windows 10? I've made all the corrections and settings that I can think of, yet I still get a box that lists all m6y browser choices and asks if I want to continue to use the "app". Any ideas on how to stop
    this---it's quite annoying!

    Thanks!
