How can I merge my Boot and System Partition into an unique one?

    Hello everyone.

I recently opened my disk manager and Boot and System Properties are on two different partitions. Here is a screenshot of my Disk Manager.

I apologize for the image being in french. The system partition where windows is installed is the second one that doesn't have any path letter for whatever reason. The partition with boot files is the third one (CHow can I merge my Boot and System Partition into an unique one? :) which is also where my program files/user files etc are stocked. HPDOCS is self explanatory and the unnamed partition on the far right is a recovery partition, probably created by the system.

I don't know why the System Partition is 4GB, I thought Windows only needed 100MB or so? In that sense I'd like to have this wasted space merged with (CHow can I merge my Boot and System Partition into an unique one? :)

Under windows Disk Manager, I found the option to mount the content of the unnamed disk (Windows Files) into a folder in (CHow can I merge my Boot and System Partition into an unique one? :), maybe it solves my problem?

If not, I would like to proceed with 2 different options:

    1) Ideally, as said earlier; completely merge both partitions so I have windows and boot files in the same partition.

    2) If not possible, I would like to make my boot partition active (which is currently not possible as my windows isn't on that partition) without necessarily having to merge/delete anything.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    :)

  3. Merging partitions

    Hi RFish3

My name is Andre Da Costa; an Independent Consultant, Windows Insider MVP and Windows & Devices for IT MVP. I'm here to help you with your problem.

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Disk Management

Right click the System partition where Windows 10 is installed then click Extend.

Click Yes when the warning appears.

A wizard will now begin that will guide through the steps to merge back the unallocated space with your system partition.

The wizard provides a simple procedure to merge back the unallocated space with the system drive. Once you have selected the space, click Next, at the end of the wizard, you will see the amount allocated.

How to merge the Health (Recovery Partition) in Windows 10

Previously, I used AOMEI Partition Assistant without any issue, but now after I delete the 450 MB Health (Recovery Partition) & merge with my C: drive, this error popped out; (I'm unable to merge it anymore)

"The version of your system is equal or higher than 1703. We suggest you don't resize/move system partition, which may cause system boot failure. We suggest create a Windows PE bootable media and rezise/move system partition with it."

Any suggestion to merge the partition? Thanks & greatly appreciated. FYI, I tried various application also not working.

    There's a \\?\Volume{ff855cc7-980a-44a3-aa46-1eed8d8c8b8c}\ located on Optimize Drives.
(The 450 MB Health Recovery Partition)

    P.S. Windows 10 Pro x64 Version 1709 (OS Build 16299.19)
