  1. How can I preserve folder date/time stamps when extracting a compressed zipped folder?

In Windows 10, I right-clicked some folders and chose "Send to compressed zipped folder". That worked fine. But when I extract them, the folders all have new date/time stamps. Within the zipped folders, I can see that the original folder date/time stamps are preserved. How can I preserved them when extracting them?BTW there is no problem with file date/time stamps; those are preserved. My question is about folder date/time stamps.

    :)

extract and preserve folders and pathways?

Extract All has always preserved folder structure for me. I don' t use it any more as I prefer 7-ZIP. It's Extract here and Extract to always preserver folder structure.

Edit: I just tested this by creating a zip file with several folders in it, each of which has a couple files. There were also files not in those folders.

I then copied the zip file to another location then did a Extract all and everything was exactly as the source. Folder strusture and content was exactly the same as the original.

Don't know what your customers are doing or how they are doing it but you need them to provide a step by step scenario so you or someone here can try to recreate it.

  3. Cannot complete the compressed (zipped) folders extraction wizard

    Hi,

I have downloaded my music from a knowhow cloud storage onto my new laptop. It has appeared in my downloads, but when I try to extract the data, I receive the message "cannot complete the compressed (zipped) folders extraction wizard.

The compressed (zipped) folder is empty. Before you can extract files, you must copy files to this compressed (zipped folder.

Please are you able to advise?

    Other potentially useful info:

I'm on windows 10 using a new laptop

the file size is 4GB so there is something in it

when I double click on the file, I receive message - "windows cannot open the folder. The compressed (zipped) folder 'folder name' is invalid

    any help would be great...
