Windows 10: How can i sove the error 0x80070017

My DirectPlay is disabled, and when i try to enable it receive this error. I need this feature because i want to play an older game. When i start the game he gives me: https://prnt.sc/rhcc59, i press on the Install this feature but i receive this https://prnt.sc/rhcdao. I tryed to start the Direct Play manually from Windows and Features at the Legacy Components but i receive the same error. How can i sove it?

What is the exact error code that you receive? Is it 0x80070017 or 0x80070012?

This issue may occur if there is a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) failure during the update process. This failure may occur if the received file is not the file that is expected by Windows Update

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it help:

Method 1:

I suggest you to run the Chkdsk.exe tool to check the disk for errors. Follow the steps below for the same:

  Press Windows key+ R
  
• 
  Type chkdsk C: press Enter
  

Method 2:

You may also rename the Windows Update components folder and verify the result.

a) Press "Windows key + X" and click "Command Prompt (Admin)".

b) Type "net stop wuauserv" and press enter.

c) Type "rename c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old" and press enter.

d) Type "net start wuauserv"and press enter.
