Windows 10: How can i stop the updates?

im on version 1803 of windows 10,and it wants me to update to a newer version. i did update it on another laptop. and it ruined it for me. so in trying to stop the update. i disabled the windows update in "services". but whenever i pick on my power icon on the start menu. i still have the "update and restart" option there. so i now can never restart my laptop?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.
