Windows 10: How can I uninstall Microsoft DirectX SDK June 2010?

I have knew that there were lots of related questions in the community, but NONE of them can uninstall it completely.


When I click on the xunist.exe under the directory of C:\Program Files x86\Microsoft DirectX SDK June 2010\system\uninstall , it shows that “Please run this uninstall from the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs”. However, when I turns to the control pannel, the Microsoft DirectX SDK June 2010 does not exist.


I have checked the regedit, it seems that DirectX SDK June 2010 does not support Windows 10 such that there is no uninstall string in it.


I have tried some third party uninstall tools but no luck.


I do not want my system restored.


I think the simplest way to solve it is to provide an uninstall string and run it in the powershell.

Can I uninstall Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010) from Windows 10?

While installing a older game on my new computer with Windows 10, it installed Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010). That screwed up my computer. I could not uninstall it because it did not show up in Control Panel as an installed program, so I had to 'restore'
to get back to normal.

Now I just found a folder named 'Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010)' in C:/Program Files (x86) but it still is not showing in Control Panel as an installed program.

• Does Windows 10 need this?
• If it was by my game install then it should have been removed when I restored, right?
• Can I just delete it or what?

Any help would be appreciated.

DirectX installation failed

Thank you for the update. Please verify if DirectX June 2010 is being offered via Windows Update. If your computer is already running DirectX 12, it has backwards compatibility with the previous version of DirectX. Moreover, you may also want to consider
performing the suggested steps in this article.
