  2. @zbook, I was unable to run it due to it not wanting to boot from the USB flash drive.

Methods used to use Memtest86+ when initial attempts fail:

    Note
If you have fast boot or ultra fast boot enabled in your UEFI firmware settings, then you will need to temporarily disable fast boot or ultra fast boot to be able to boot from a USB.

    1. Try another USB stick
    2. Try all USB ports (2.0 and 3.0)
    3. Maybe when using UEFI Bios u have temporarly switch to Legacy in BIOS settings
    4. Turn off temporarily fast boot, secure boot, CSM if enabled

  4. How can I update my BIOS?

All it’s saying is “Removable Device”. It doesn’t even say “USB” or anything of that nature.

  6. Hi,
Best to take it in somewhere and let a professional flash the bios or you could end up with a large paperweight for your trouble *Smile
Yes a removable device is a flash drive formatted to fat32 the devices default format.

  7. All it has is a secure boot option. I have done all of those and it’s still not wanting to boot from the flash drive.

  8. How can I update my BIOS?

I am in advanced options now. I don’t even see a thing labeled “Boot from USB”.

  9. I’ve already updated the BIOS to the latest version as @Bree said to do. Just trying to run the Memtest86 now. But, it’s not letting me boot from the USB flash drive.

There are trial and error steps in the BIOS.
If you are not comfortable in the bios then you can either bring it to a nearby computer store or use Memtest86.
The memory testing software have different algorithms. We regularly use Memtest86+ version 5.01.
Sometimes there are conflicting results so we consistently use Memtest86+ version 5.01.

  11. I will do that. I would have to see how much they would charge me since I am on a fixed income here.

Well, I didn't actually say you 'should', I just told you 'how' - you already seemed to be determined to do it *Smile

Probably can't do any harm though, but we now know it wasn't related to your problems.

How can I update my BIOS?

This is the RAM testing software that we don't regularly use but you can use it to test the RAM.
It is often easier to use.
Different software algorithms can produce different results.
We had had an OP use memtest which had different results from memtest86+ version 5.01.
One had a pass and the other a fail. (one had errors and the other had no errors).
This is the memtest software: MemTest86 - Official Site of the x86 Memory Testing Tool
