Windows 10: How come the October and December Windows 10 updates causing freezing of new computers,...

I am less than impressed by Windows 10 updates in 2018 causing freezing of my new in April Lenovo desktop, which had Windows 10 professionally installed in April 2018 - with no problems at all and no additional software apart from DuckDuckGo (SO much better than Bing and doesn't track you, no ads, hurrah!) until Windows 10 updates this October 2018.

The December update froze but also blocked me from sending emails from my Hotmail account, putting them in 'drafts' and smugly sending an email back telling me Microsoft had done this.

No, this is not an 'old computer' problem, nor is it a 'problem ap' nor a bug, nor malware. It is a Microsoft generated problem related to Windows 10 updates. I finally sorted the freezing resulting from the October update of Windows 10 by reloading Windows 10 entirely. In December I was reluctant to risk doing this again and instead reloaded the Windows 10 update itself. This sorted the freezing. However I was still unable to 'send' emails - could receive on both accounts but could not send. I sorted this by deleting my Hotmail account and reinstating it, using Mail, Setting, Manage Account, Delete account than then reinstating it by Add Account but NOT using the Hotmail or Outlook options but through the Exchange account, by trial and error. Hope this helps others. Microsoft stop sending automatic updates that completely stuff your users systems. I will switch to Apple next time round.

PC Freezing During Windows Update December 2016

During the month of December 2016 Windows has attempted to apply updates to Windows 10. During shut down and start up the computer freezes. The screen says, getting windows ready do not turn off the computer, and it just freezes. This has caused me to
have to perform resets to the machine, causing me to have to reinstall apps, several times. How can I prevent updates to my computer, what is Microsoft doing about these faulty updates?
