    How did the hotspot login page get bypassed during windows 10 pro install?


    In my dorm we have to login to the AP with a password than supply credentials on a landing page in the browser to gain internet access. I watched somebody connect to the AP when windows asks if you want to connect to the internet during the install. He entered the wifi password but when setup was complete I noticed the wifi icon didn't indicate no internet access. He opened edge and to my surprise he was online without supplying credentials.


    How could something during the install bypass the hotspot login and grand access? Closing a browser and re-opening, or disable/re-enable on the nic would still keep someone online, but on any device restarting would require them to login again. This guys PC rebooted and reinstalled a whole OS and somehow never gave up login credentials.
