How do I add text or image overlays into my images in the paint program with MS 11

MS Paint: Win 11 - Unable to work with overlay images

When I import an image on an already open MS Paint project (let's say another image), MS Paint does not allow me to manipulate the overlay image - like resize or invert color, etc. Neither I see the edge or corner markers on the imported image, which I can use to drag the size of the image.

And even when I try to perform the actions like resize or invert color, MS Paint simply perform the action on the canvas not on the overlay image alone.

Also, is there a way i can use the old UI of MS Paint in Win 11?

 

How do I add text into my images in the paint program

Yes, you can add text to images using the Paint program. Here are the steps you can follow:

1. Open the image you want to add text to in Paint.
   
2. Select the "Text" tool from the toolbar on the left side of the screen. It looks like a "T" icon.
   
3. Click on the image where you want the text to appear.
   
4. Type in the text you want to add.
   
5. Use the formatting options in the toolbar at the top of the screen to change the font, size, color, and style of the text.
   
6. Once you have finished formatting the text, click on the "Select" tool in the toolbar to deselect the text.
   

Alternatively, you can also use the "Type Text" option under the "Home" tab, where you can change the font, color, size, and formatting of the text before actually inserting it in the image.

Keep in mind that Paint is a basic image editing software, and if you need more advanced editing features like text wrapping, multiple layer and more advanced typography options you should look for more robust image editing software like Adobe Photoshop, VSCO, GIMP, or Inkscape.

2. What is the format of the image?

3. Do you see the alphabet, “A”
highlighted when you click on it?

I suggest you to open Paint with Administrator privileges. Go to
C:\Windows\system32\mspaint.exe. Right click on the Paint icon and select,
Run as Administrator. Further, when Paint opens, click on the alphabet “A”
symbol on the file ribbon. If it gets selected (highlighted), select any particular area on the image using the mouse selection and add the text on the selected area.
