Windows 10: how do I adjust pen pressure sensitivity new pen model and surface pro 7

I just bought a new surface pro 7 and the new pen model that's supposed to be an improvement over the old model. I've looked over the pen settings in Devices, but there's nothing for adjusting pen pressure sensitivity. I tried calibrating as other forums have suggested but that did nothing. What's more, the pen seems to lack pressure sensitivity altogether with certain art programs like GIMP. I only bought a surface pro for the pen to skip the Wacom middleman, so I really hope I can make the pen and tablet work how I want to use the pro 7 as a proper art tablet.

Pen pressure sensitivity calibration

Hi all,

I have two devices with active pen, one is Surface Pro 4 and one is HP Spectre x360 13.

On the Surface I can calibrate the pressure sensitivity with the Surface App but on HP Spectre x360 this app is not compatible (only with the surface devices). There is a way to make the pen less sensitivity to pressure?

For example when I use OneNote UWP I miss the 0.35 mm size that is present in OneNote 2016 and on the Surface Pro 4 I solved this with a pressure calibration.

 

Issues with pen sensitivity.

Simply put, pen has been acting awfully erratically. On some occasions my pen will act normally but sometime it will simply be stuck at 100% sensitivity and that really puts a damper on my drawing. At first i simply thought it was Clip Studio Paint but after adjusting the setting in that app it persisted. I then got some new batteries for the pen because it might have been simply dying. That didn't work either. Going into Surface shows me the pen sensitivity simply get stuck at high pressure or something. I recently went through the trouble of trying to reinstall wintab among the other drivers and whatnot that the microsoft site gave me for my Surface pro 3. After trying them out and restarting several time, I'm very much stuck right now. I can't be sure it's the pen either because it decided it wanted to work yesterday, just not today. Any help is appreciated.

 

No pen pressure adjustment settings for HP Envy x360

I picked up an HP Envy x360 recently because it can use Windows Ink and uses the Ntrig / Microsoft Pen Protocol that the Surface line uses for their pens. The pens all work on the devices however there isn't any settings in windows to adjust the pen pressure
unless I pay money to a third party app called Lazy Nezumi. When I use Photoshop and the Windows Ink Workspace the pressure is blown out to maximum thickness which means I can't make a controlled stroke. It's just thick.

However software like Krita and Clip Studio Paint have settings to allow me to adjust pressure settings built in and the pen works wonderfully in those programs. The Surface Pro line has the Surface App that allows me to adjust pressure universally for all
programs. Is there a universal setting for pen pressure settings buried deep inside windows I'm not finding?
