Windows 10: how do I Block KB4586853?

    how do I Block KB4586853?


    Running Windows 10 pro 20H2 version 19042.630
    I wound up having to back out KB4586853 as my AllData Automotive Service software would no longer run after it installed. Once backed out it was fine. Now I come home today, and it is ready to reboot to install it again. I can install then back it out again, but I need a way to block it, or find out what it updates or installs that is killing my $2500.00 software package from runnning.

    • Log in to https://familysafety.microsoft.com/ using your Microsoft Email account.
    • Find the user that is correspond to the computer account on the Windows that you are having issue with.
    • Click on "App Restrictions".
    • Under App Restrictions, click on "App list".
    • Here, you can Allow or Block the Apps/Games that you want.

    KB4586853 CU Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.662 and v20H2 19042.662 Win Update

    Bizarre Uninstall of 661:
    There are two 661 updates: 19041.661.1.7 and 19041.661.1.8.

    I applied both updates v7 and then v8 in succession. Then I decided to uninstall 661 to prepare for patch Tuesday. The uninstall was interesting because there was only one entry in the Windows Update uninstall list for KB4586853 (661). I uninstalled that entry, it didn't demand a reboot, but I rebooted anyway. I ran winver and it still reported version 19042.661. So I looked at the Windows Update uninstall list again and, to my astonishment, there it was again: KB4586853!

    So it occurred to me that there was one entry, but two installs of 661. I had only rolled back from v8 to v7. So I uninstalled KB4586853 again. This time it took longer and demanded a reboot. After the reboot, winver reported 19042.630 and KB4586853 was gone from the Windows Update uninstall list. 19042.630 is copacetic now.

    to block the senders please follow these steps

    open the message you want to block.

    Add the sender to the blocked senders list.

    In Windows Live Mail, choose Actions→Junk E-Mail→Add Sender to Blocked Senders List.

    In Windows Mail, choose Message→Junk E-Mail→Add Sender to Blocked Senders List.

    In Outlook Express, choose Message→Block Sender.

    Click the Yes button or click OK.
