Windows 10: How Do I Change the Font Size Of My Desktop Icons In Windows 10 ?

And if i want the bold version of the font ?

 

Use WinAero Tweaker

 

Right click on the Start Button. Select Control Panel. Select Personalization. Select Display. Select Make Text and other items Larger and Smaller. Select Display. Go down to change only text size and from the drop down menu select "icons". This should do it for you.

 

In Windows 10 do the following to change font SIZE of Desktop icon fonts. 1.) On the desktop, right click on the mouse button 2.) Choose "Display Settings" 3.) On this page In the center, on the bottom, click "Advance Display Settings" 4.) On this page you do not see the entire page and you must scroll down some to see the entire page. After you scroll down, on the far left of the screen (second from bottom) click "Advanced sizing of fonts and other items" 5.) This is where you can make font sizing changes. In the middle of the screen there is a gray box entitled "Title bars." Press the arrow down button within this box 6.) In the list that comes up, select "Icons" 7.) Now, the box reads "Icons." To the immediate right of this box is another box, which is the font "size" box. In the font size box, press the arrow down button and change the size from the default size of 9, to 10, 11, 12, etc (10 is good). 8.) To the immediate right of the font size box is a "Bold" check box. Put your cursor in this box and click your mouse button. It will add a check mark within the box. 9.) You have done it! Close all the boxes you have opened. Now you can read the lettering under the icons.*Cool

I have tried everything on this thread to try to enlarge the font size on my favorites bar. None of them work. What do I do next?

In MS's ongoing wisdom, they have removed the capability with latest updates to change many things. Go here...........this worked well for me.........

Ok - I tried this 2x. The first time I changed the font size from 7 to 9 and it didn't
change anything. So I went back and changed it to 14 and rebooted and still no change. Is this supposed to work for the favorites bar too? Or are there other instructions to change the favorites bar?

 

I am no expert and cannot answer your question, I used the utility to BOLD my DTop Icon Fonts and it worked great,

 

Finally found a text resizer that really works nice after the Windows Creator Update. Google search for "System Font Size Changer" at System Font Size Changer - WinTools.Info. Go to the Red Download at bottom of webpage. Winearo also works good. Hopefully Microsoft will bring back the text resizer from the XP/Win7/Win10-Old Version Days. This is best way to do this after the Windows 10 Creator update.

 

Download 'Winaero Tweaker'. Which is a free programme. Once it has been installed click on ICONS. You can now change the desktop icons: fonts, size, spacing etc and also adjust virtually any other aspect of your PC/Laptop. It's a great free programme!
